IN THE NEWS: ROTTEN TOMATOES’ POLICY ADJUSTED
UNDATED (AP) _ Rotten Tomatoes is taking another step to make sure their reviews are fresh _ not fake. The review aggregator says it will now verify that users who post ratings on a movie _ have actually seen it. The site says users who purchase tickets on Fandango will get a verified “badge” next to their review. Scores based on those reviews will be displayed on Fandango, which owns Rotten Tomatoes. Theater chains like AMC, Regal and Cinemark will follow suit later this year. Fandango says the new rules will boost consumer confidence for reviews in the site. The changes are aimed at ridding Rotten Tomatoes of the reputation that’s it’s a place were trolls can post negative reviews about films that haven’t been released. That happened with the recent movie, “Captain Marvel.” The company responded by shutting down user reviews until a film officially hits theaters.

As part of the experiment, authorities let a bunch of drones go in the air at the same time above downtown Reno, Nevada this week. The goal was the test technology that will be used to keep tabs on hundreds of thousands of the small, unmanned commercial version of the aircraft.
