In return to action, Herd swim/diving falls to Vandy

HUNTINGTON — Marshall’s swimming and diving team dropped a close dual meet to Southeastern Conference foe Vanderbilt on Saturday, 148-113, at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.

Marshall, in its first meet after time off from competition, earned six first-place finishes.

Darby Coles notched wins in the 50 free (24.67) and 100 free (53.51). Catherine Bendziewicz (100 breaststroke, 1:05.70, 200 breaststroke, 2:22.45) and Caroline Wanner (200 backstroke, 2:05.99 and 400 IM, 4:31.89) also earned top finishes.

Marshall’s next meet will be against Cleveland State Saturday.
