TUESDAY

“The Music Man,” rated TV-G, will be shown at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Aiken County Public Library, 314 Chesterfield St. S.W. The film is part of The Tuneful Tuesdays video series, and will be held each Tuesday in July. For more information, visit abbe-lib.org.

WEDNESDAY

A Swim Day will be held Wednesday at the Aiken County Recreation Center. A bus will leave Roy Warner Park, 4287 Festival Trail Road, Wagener, at 9:15 a.m. The cost is $10 per child, and include lunch and transportation. The Crosland Park Neighborhood Association host a Government to Your Neighborhood meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Community Resource Center, 1248 Crosland Drive N.E. Scheduled speakers will be Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon, Aiken City Councilwoman Gail Diggs, Public Safety Chief Charles Barranco, Aiken County Council Chairman Gary Bunker, County Councilman Willar Hightower, Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt and Aiken County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sean Alford. An evening meal of barbecue, cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans will be served. A question and answer session will follow. Seating is limited and early arrival is recommended. Questions may be submitted in advance to cpna@atlanticbb.net. The deadline to submit questions is Wednesday.

THURSDAY

The Hall of Fame video series will be shown at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry St. S.W. The film, titled “20th Century,” will feature biographies of Elizabeth B. Coker, Philip Simmons, William Westmoreland, William S. Hall, Roger Milliken, Charles Townes, William J. Bryan Dorn, Frances Edmunds and Dizzy Gillespie. The film will be shown again at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call the museum at 803-642-2015.

FRIDAY

A Back to School Block Party will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Warrenville, 1012 Aiken Blvd., Warrenville. The event will feature bounce houses, snow cones, games and dinner. The event is free and open to the public.
