OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (AP) _ A bus carrying passengers from New York to Atlantic City overturned on the Garden State Parkway this morning, and fatalities were reported.

State Police spokesman Lt. Bob Manney said the bus, from Bruin Transportation in Brooklyn, was traveling southbound in the express lanes when the driver lost control and the vehicle went through the guardrail and flipped on its side on an embankment between the express and local lanes.

Numerous emergency response vehicles went to the scene, and traffic in the area was snarled. Authorities said some people were killed, although it was not immediately known how many.

Eddie Ginsberg of Bruin Transportation said the bus had about 25 people on board.

It was not immediately known if weather played a role in the crash. About 2 inches of snow fell in the area overnight.
