Isinbayeva wins women’s pole vault at worlds
MOSCOW (AP) — Yelena Isinbayeva won the gold medal in the pole vault Tuesday, delighting the home crowd with her third world title.
The Russian cleared 16-feet-0 ½. She was followed by Olympic champion Jenn Suhr of the U.S and Yarisley Silva of Cuba. The silver and bronze medalists both had heights of 15-9 ¾.
The 31-year-old Isinbayeva plans to take a break for motherhood after the season but could come back for the 2015 world championships in Beijing or the 2016 Rio Olympics.
