NC State’s Inge Suspended
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) _ Kenny Inge, North Carolina State’s leading rebounder and second-leading scorer, was suspended indefinitely Wednesday and did not make the trip to play against No. 14 North Carolina.
Coach Herb Sendek said Inge was suspended for ``attitude inconsistent with the mission of the team.″
The 6-foot-8 Inge, who averages 12.1 points and 6.4 rebounds, did not play the final 6:49 of regulation and the overtime in an 82-79 at Virginia on Sunday.
The sophomore, arguably N.C. State’s best player, had averaged 16.3 points and 6.2 rebounds over his last six games.
Inge was a preseason second-team all-ACC pick.
Inge’s suspension is the second for the Wolfpack this season. Damon Thornton missed one game _ on Jan. 2 at home against Georgia Tech _ after being arrested at a Raleigh night club.
