Freetail Brewing Co., River City Wrestling tag-team for beer brawl
There won’t be any specially brewed Slam Antonio Lager or Piledriver Porter for the event, but a San Antonio brewery is ditching the yoga and trivia nights for a more violent form of sudsy entertainment.
The Freetail Brewing Co. is hosting a River City Wrestling event Jan. 4 in the main brewing area of the tasting room at 2000 S. Presa St. in Southtown.
“We’ve been planning on doing this for a while now (with Freetail),” said River City Wrestling founder Brandon Oliver. “Most of our venues have been in the north or northeast part of town, and we want to have a presence all over the city.”
Wrestlers from all over the country, as well as luchadores from Mexico, will fill the six-match card. For more information, go to the RCW presence on Facebook.
Oliver said the configuration of the brewery seating will allow about 400 into the space, and he expects a sellout. Tickets, which are priced from $20 for general admission to $40 for front-row seating, are available at ticketweb.com.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the event will begin at 8 p.m. The Freetail tasting room opens at 4 p.m.
