Area girls compete in Distinguished Young Women program
High school senior girls from across South Carolina joined together in Lexington for the Distinguished Young Women of South Carolina program on July 28 at Lexington One Performing Arts Center. Participants competed for $13,000 in college scholarships and the opportunity to represent the state as the Distinguished Young Woman of South Carolina for 2019. This year’s area participants are Jenna Crase of South Edgefield County; Kennedy Golden of South Aiken County; Sara Frances Miller of North Edgefield County; Annalee Rodgers of Saluda County; and Alex Zeller of North August.
Quinton Taylor named to president’s list
Quinton Taylor of Aiken has been named to president’s list at Georgia Southern University for the 2018 spring semester. To be eligible for the president’s list, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Thomas Byrd named to dean’s list
Thomas Byrd of North Augusta has been named to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester at Georgia Southern University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Area students named to Trevecca dean’s list
Eugenia Antley of Batesburg and Jackson Poole of North Augusta were named to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester at Trevecca Nazarene University.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and attain a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
