Dinosaur Jr. bringing intimate show to Grog Shop
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Dinosaur Jr. will hit the Grog Shop’s stage on Sept. 12, as a part of a short makeup tour.
The band was previously set to play at Cleveland’s Agora with Mastodon, but the tour was cancelled on Aug. 30 due to a family situation for a member of Mastodon. Now, Dinosaur Jr. is moving forward with its own headlining tour at a few venues in the U.S.
The alt-rock band has been around a while, forming in 1984 and rising to influence in the alt-rock movement of the 1990s. The Grog Shop is a small venue for Dinosaur Jr. to play; according to Setlist.FM, the last time the band played the venue was in 2009. (Since then, they’ve played at larger Northeast Ohio spots like Jacobs Pavilion, Beachland Ballroom and House Of Blues.)
Dinosaur Jr. has released 11 albums, from 1985′s “Dinosaur” to 2016′s “Get A Glimpse Of What Yer Not.”
The band will perform at 8:30 p.m. at the Grog Shop. Tickets to the show are on sale now, and they cost $26 in advance and $30 the day of the show.
