LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Top-ranked Kansas, getting 19 points from Tony Brown, tuned up for Saturday’s showdown with No. 4 Missouri with a 132-65 victory Thursday night over Elizabeth City State.
Kansas (19-0) took an 18-0 lead against the Division II Vikings (1-12) for the second-biggest winning margin in school history.
The Jayhawks, hitting 63 percent from the field, scored the second-most points ever in posting their 12th consecutive victory at Allen Field House. They hit the 100-point mark during an 18-0 run on a basket by Adonis Jordan with 8:51 remaining.
Rick Calloway added 18 points, Mark Randall 16 and Kirk Wagner had 14 for Kansas. Power forward Alonzo Jamison, declared eligible earlier in the day after a three-semester layoff, scored nine points.
All 12 Jayhawks scored at least four points and none played fewer than 12 minutes as Kansas outrebounded the Vikings 56-22 and forced 32 turnovers.
Darryl Riddick led the Vikings with 16 points and James Eaton and Tyson Ransom added 14 apiece.
Pritchard and Calloway scored seven points apiece in the Jayhawks’ 18-0 start.
After baskets by Elizabeth City’s Melvin Satchell and Eaton cut it to 18-4, Kansas went on a 17-2 burst with eight different players scoring. A pair of Calloway free throws capped the spurt and gave the Jayhawks a 43-9 lead with 7:27 remaining in the first half.
Following a timeout with 4:50 to go, Kansas coach Roy Williams cleared his bench and Elizabeth City managed to climb to 55-29 at halftime.
The Jayhawks scored the first 13 points of the second half and led 68-29 after back-to-back baskets by Calloway.
