Southeast Missouri 70, Eastern Kentucky 68

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) _ William ``Bud″ Eley scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Southeast Missouri to a 70-68 victory over Eastern Kentucky Saturday.

The Colonels (4-10 overall; 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference) led 35-32 at halftime, but the Indians scored the first seven points of the second half to take the lead.

Eastern Kentucky rallied, gaining a 54-52 advantage with 8:30 remaining.

A basket by Eley tied it at 54-54. Richard Lyte then hit one of two free throws to put Southeast Missouri (5-9, 3-1) ahead 55-54. The Colonels never regained the lead.

Lyte scored a total of 14 points for Southeast Missouri. Lakeo Keller had 15.

Eastern Kentucky was led by Matt Simons, who scored 19 points. They had two other players in double figures. Daniel Sutton scored 16 and Travis Inskeep had 11.
