Man pleads not guilty to murder in fatal park stabbing
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A second person has pleaded not guilty in connection with the fatal stabbing of man in a Worcester park over the weekend.
Police say 33-year-old of Carlos Estrada, of Worcester, was found late Saturday night lying on a sidewalk near the entrance to University Park, commonly known as Crystal Park. He later died at a hospital.
Thirty-year-old Anthony Chambers pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder at his arraignment in Central District Court. A judge ordered the city man held without bail. He is due back in court on Nov. 5.
Chambers’ lawyer says it is unclear if Chambers and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Erika Mullen, who is also charged in the stabbing, knew Estrada. The lawyer says he believes multiple knives were involved.
