Local Roundup: Monty Tech’s Dandy Sets Course Record

FITCHBURG -- Monty Tech’s Conor Dandy set the record on his home course with a time of 17:23 over 3.1 miles on Tuesday, but the Bulldogs still fell to visiting Parker Charter, 20-35, for their first loss of the season.

After Dandy finished first overall to lead Monty Tech (3-1), Parker captured the next four spots to secure the victory and improve to 4-0.

Littleton scored one minute into the second half, as Jason Frisoli found the net, assisted by Leandro Alves.

North Middlesex 2

Quabbin 0

Roody Clemetson and Wesley Call scored goals -- assisted by Owen Marr and Aidan Murray -- and Cooper Wyman earned the shutout in net for North Middlesex.

Girls’ soccer

Leominster 0

Martina Nkwantah scored a pair of goals and Myah Johnson, Hailey Thomas and Erin Bourgeois added one each as North Middlesex cruised to victory. Kelly White was stellar in net for the Patriots, earning the shutout.

Chris Yapp (2nd, 17:13), Ethan Sarafin (6th, 17:42), Freddie Collins (7th, 17:47) and Ailin Oberlies (8th, 17: 52) led Nashoba Regional (2-1) on its 3.08-mile home course at Bowers Springs. Algonquin is now 1-2.

St. Bernard’s (3-2) Mike Provencher earned co-medalist honors at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg. St. Peter-Marian fell to 2-5.

Gardner fell to 0-8 on the season with a loss at Red Tail Golf Course in Devens. The match was halted after six holes due to rain

It was a great team effort for North Middlesex (6-5), led by Brenna Adams (5 kills, 2 aces) and Sara Murphy (8 kills, 2 blocks). Set scores were 25-10, 25-17 and 25-6. Fitchburg (2-6) was led by Amanda Sanchez (2 kills, 2 assists, 3 tips, dig, ace) and Valentina Rosas (assist, 3 digs, 4 service points).

Ibby Sonia led the Cheiftains (6-2) by serving for 17 points with only one serving error. Lauren Bechara was not too far behind with nine points on serves and one serving error. Emily Bussiere led the team with three digs. Set scores were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-8.
