Elrose Schade -- Lake City

The funeral service for Elrose Schade will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville, with the Rev. Dr. Bob Summers officiating. Burial will follow the service at Millville Cemetery in Millville.

Elrose Ann Schade, 102, of Lake City, and formerly of rural Millville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at St Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha. She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Dodge County, to John F. and Rose (Meek) Stucky. Elrose attended school in Pine Island, graduating from Pine Island High School in 1932. On April 5, 1937, she married Arnold Schade in Cresco, Iowa. He passed away on Feb. 7, 1989.

Elrose was a farm homemaker and a full partner in the farming operations on the family farm in rural Millville from 1937 to 1989. She moved to Lake City in 1990. Elrose enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and embroidering and loved cats and gardening. She was a member of Royal Neighbors, Grace United Church of Christ and the Grace Church Ladies Group.

Elrose is survived by her children, Patricia Bailey of Lake City, Rosemary (Howard) Gray of Millville, Carol Bargsten of Minneapolis, and Jim (Donna) Schade of Wabasha; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Stucky of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and four sisters.

Friends and family may visit from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Millville Cemetery Association.
