PLAINVIEW — Tanner Joe Boehmke, 24, of Plainview died Tuesday, March 5, 2019, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Tanner was born March 26, 1994, in Winona, to Lori Klein and Scott Boehmke. He attended school in Rushford, St. Charles and Winona. He was most recently working at Lakeside Food as a combine operator.
Tanner faced many challenges in his short life. He confronted each one to the best of his ability. He posted this quote “I am me and no one else.” His joy in life was riding snowmobiles and dirt bikes and doing mechanical work with his friends. Tanner also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Lori Klein of Plainview, Scott Boehmke of Rushford; his grandmothers, Maxine Boehmke of Rushford and Doris Jean Klein of Rochester; nine aunts, Deb Manion of Big Lake, Minn., Gloria (Rich) Urbick of Minnesota City, Minn., Lynne (Al) Eide of Rogers, Minn., Cindy (Tom) McMcManimon of Chatfield, Minn., Judy Klein of Rochester, Minn., Sherry Klein of Winona, Vicki (Greg) Meyer of Rochester, Sandra (Jack) Burgoon of Minnesota City, Jo Ann (Don) Mierau of Winona.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Boehmke and Miles Klein; uncle, Jerry Manion; and his cousin, Kari Eide.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Steven Abaukaka will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service at the church. A luncheon will follow in the church hall and burial will be at a later date.
