NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ Sophomore guard Cameron Crisp scored a career-high 24 points to lead Tennessee Tech to an 80-61 win over Yale Tuesday night in the second round of the NIT.

Tennessee Tech (27-6) will play the winner of Wednesday’s Brigham Young-Memphis game in the third round.

The Golden Eagles controlled the game from the outset.

Two baskets by Greg Morgan and a three-point play by Crisp helped Tech take an early 11-4 lead. Joey Westmoreland and Damien Kinloch each scored four points during a 10-5 run as Tennessee Tech moved out to a 21-9 lead.

Yale scored the last four points of the first half and closed within 35-25.

After Yale pulled within 41-32 early in the second half, Crisp scored seven straight points and Kinloch added two more to give Tennessee Tech a 50-32 advantage.

Kinloch had his 10th double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan scored 10 points.

T.J. McHugh and Matt Minooff each scored 12 points for Yale (21-11). Ime Archibing added 10.
