Blue Blazers dunk NP

Elkhart Central defeated New Prairie 137-49 in girls swimming Thursday. The Cougars had no firsts. Madison Waltz was second in the 200-yard individual medley as was Allie Harris in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Cougars remain winless

A 20-4 third quarter doomed the New Prairie girls basketball team in a 61-37 loss to Mishawaka on Thursday. The winless Cougars were led by Jordan Winters with 11 points, two more than Sydney Meyers and Libby Lapczynski.

Two N.P. baseball players to sign

New Prairie baseball players Hunter Robinson and Josh Conley will sign national letters of intent for college today. Robinson will attend Purdue Northwest while Conley is headed to Manchester.

MC semistate tickets, game info

Tickets for Saturday’s Class 5A northern semistate at New Palestine are on sale in the Michigan City High School athletics office today. The cost is $10. Two fan buses, one for students and one for adults, will be leaving from the front of the school at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $20, which includes a game ticket. Sign-ups for the bus are also being taken in the athletics office. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. New Palestine encourages fans traveling from Michigan City to access the school campus at the southwest entrance from U.S. 52; turn right (south) on Gem Road/CR500W, and enter from that direction. Don’t use the main entrance off 52 as access to the stadium will be limited.

City hoops postponements

Due to Saturday’s football semistate, the girls basketball game with Lighthouse and the boys scrimmage at Lowell have been postponed. The scrimmage will be held at 6 p.m. today, while there has been no makeup date set for the girls game.

MC golf passes available

Snow is on the ground, but 2019 season passes for Michigan City Golf Course are available for purchase from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. on weekends in the basement of City Hall. Passes will be discounted 10 percent until Dec. 28. For details, call 219-873-1516.
