Orchids and Onions: Sunday, May 19, 2019
Another beautiful day in Havasu...
Orchids to the Lake Havasu Senior Center for once again hosting the AARP Tax Aide program. You not only gave us a place to work, you provided meals, too. And made appointments for those in Lake Havasu who didn’t have computer access. Thank you all! See you next year!
Onions to draping huge flag over the Bridge and blocking or destroying swallow nests! The swallows are a magnificent sight. San Juan Capistrano would be jealous. What a moronic idea!
Orchids to Tom at River Valley Window and Door for taking care of a small leak in our sliding glass door. Not only is he a great guy but he came out within a day to work on the problem.
Onions to affordable housing? Just look around center of town, apartments everywhere. Remember that too cheap of rent can bring in undesirables. This also can bring down the money value of your community. Havasu was not meant to be a welfare city. Careful what you wish for.
Orchids to our wonderful server Jennifer M. at the College Street Brewhouse for always remembering us and the best service with a smile.
Onions to the city planners that placed the new welcome sign in the north end of town behind other signs and landscaping.
Orchids to Jimmy Chong at Chong’s Boat Repair for getting our old Buccaneer up and going great! Great service!
Onions to the worst Easter brunch ever. Prime rib was raw, cold dry ham, cold vegetables. They ran out of glasses for water and shrimp. Never again. Way too overpriced.
