DMV express office in West Haven expands hours, days
Starting Tuesday, West Haven City Hall’s DMV Express will be open more days each week for customers to get license and ID card renewals.
The licensing service center will open four days a week and remain open with expanded hours on Thursday evenings.
The center, which has operated two days a week until 3:30 p.m., will now be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The center, DMV’s first fully-managed center under municipal direction, is sponsored by the City of West Haven and is operated by the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
It is located in the lower level of City Hall, 355 Main Street in West Haven.
“We see this as a continuing tremendous advantage to West Haven area residents who want a local service center where they can go to obtain a license or ID card renewal,” said DMV Commissioner Michael Bzdyra.
Mayor Nancy Rossi of West Haven said in a release, “The West Haven DMV satellite office has been a great success and the City of West Haven is very excited about expanding the hours of operation from two days to four days a week! Tuesday, September 18th will be the first day of the expanded hours and as Mayor of the City of the of West Haven, I will utilize the expanded hours to renew and also obtain a certified driver’s license.”
