Jake Ball to start for Wales against England

March 7, 2014

CARDIFF, Wales (AP) — Lock Jake Ball will start for Wales against England in their crunch Six Nations match at Twickenham on Sunday after Luke Charteris was ruled out on Friday with a neck injury.

Charteris would have played on his 31st birthday.

Ball made his first start two weeks ago in the 27-6 win over France at Cardiff, going in at the last minute for the injured Alun-Wyn Jones.

Ball will play alongside Jones, who has recovered from a foot infection.

In the reserves, Andrew Coombs takes Ball’s place.

Wales is chasing a third straight Six Nations title.
