Couple facing incest charges take plea deal
WAYNE — A Wayne couple facing a combined 44 sexually related charges after allegedly engaging in sexual relations with an underage boy and girl over a 22-month span took a plea deal Monday morning.
Larry Cricks, 43, and Bertha Cricks, 33, of Wayne, were each charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse by a parent/guardian, 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of incest in December 2016, according to indictments from Wayne County Circuit Court.
The Cricks’ charges stem from a West Virginia State Police investigation into reported sexual contact against the two children, both under 14, between January 2014 and October 2015. Each parent is charged with one count of incest, five counts of sexual abuse by a parent/guardian and five counts of first-degree sexual abuse against each child.
The couple are residents of the Heavenly Angels Trailer Park in Wayne, indictments state.
The details of the plea deal were not available as of press time.
