Two Dreams, One Message: Let Go of Old Beliefs
Dear Dream Retriever: Due to the fact that I wake to my baby crying in the morning, I have issues recalling details of my dreams. Here are two I remember.
In one, I’m standing in the bathroom and I think it’s my sister (she passed a year ago) who’s standing beside the toilet and I was cleaning the bowl and she flushes the toilet. I yell at her and say, “Don’t you know how high the mist goes up when you flush. It sprayed me in the face, how gross.” That was it.
Then, in last night’s dream, I’m in a dark room and a light keeps blinking on and off. I look for a switch to check it and can’t find one. I then find a door and open it, and when I do, there’s a fire engine outside the house. I look around expecting to see some smoke but don’t. I then turn around and my kitchen is on fire.
I don’t know if one has anything to do with the other and not quite sure about the fire aspect of it. Interested in what you think. -- Laura
Dear Laura: It is much more difficult to remember your dreams due to your waking situation, but your efforts to continue to try is impressive. Don’t give up -- you are doing amazing.
First off, to address the message from your sister who has passed. Flushing a toilet is discarding something you no longer need. Because your sister was standing there, it is significant because she has passed and this means the message is of utmost importance to you. The message to you from you is to let your old beliefs about a situation go -- flush it away -- and your reaction to this is to remind yourself of the implications that can arise from not standing back from it. It may blow back in your face.
Then you are further warned to try to find the light in a dark situation, and it may mean you have to open a new part of yourself up to do this. However, it is extremely important you do this now, as signified by the firetruck, which indicates a 911 situation, and then you turn around and see a fire in the kitchen. The kitchen is where you receive knowledge, and you need to destroy your old beliefs to build new ones.
