NC State’s Crisp granted medical redshirt for 2013
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State offensive tackle Rob Crisp will return after missing nearly all season with a concussion.
Crisp was hurt in the second game. Coach Dave Doeren said Monday that the senior, who hadn’t taken a redshirt year, was granted a medical redshirt for last season.
Doeren said the team is trying to get a sixth year for safety Jarvis Byrd, who tore a knee ligament for the third time in his career last year at Wake Forest.
N.C. State starts its second set of spring practices under Doeren on Wednesday. The Wolfpack won three games and went winless in Atlantic Coast Conference play in his first year.
The school moved the start back a day due to icy weather conditions that reached the area Monday afternoon.
