Council to consider city fees, bus stops, cannabis business requests tomorrow
NEEDLES — A public hearing to consider a specific Consumer Price Index with increases up to 5.7 percent on which to base fee and charge schedules for selected city services is to be held when the Needles City Council and Needles Public Utility Authority convene in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The price index discussion was continued from the meeting of Sept. 11. New public hearings set for the Sept. 25 include an ordinance and resolution amending development impact fees plus a half-dozen conditional use permits for marijuana businesses.
Some cannabis businesses are apparently considering opening and operating new businesses not related to marijuana in Needles. Council is to address marijuana tax refunds for those.
Details surrounding work to improve bus stops around the city and a request to amend county ordinances related to fire sprinkler requirements are included in the council’s consent agenda.
Council is to consider a total of 25 regular-session items during the meeting. An executive session begins at 5:30 p.m., open session at 6 p.m. in council chambers at 1111 Bailey Ave.
