Woman Gets Two Years For Ramming Courthouse
SAN DIEGO (AP) _ A woman who said she rammed her pickup truck into a courthouse because she was mad at the government has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Dorna Lee Lovelace, 42, of National City, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Gordon Thompson.
Lovelace rammed her truck into the glass doors of the building last October. She told police she did it because she was angry at the Social Security Administration, which is in another building, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Gorder.
Later, Lovelace told authorities she was angry at the U.S. attorney’s office for not acting on some allegations she made about relatives.
The crash caused $2,000 in damages.
Lovelace was charged with destruction of government property and was convicted when she failed to show up for the second day of the trial.
