Christmas Day crash in Ohio kills 1, injures 3
One person is dead and three were injured in a late-night crash Christmas Day, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Wednesday.
Just before midnight Tuesday, the highway patrol’s Van Wert post was called to a fatal crash on County Road 144 just east of Township Road 83 in Paulding County.
A man was driving his car west on County Road 144 when it struck the back of a farm tractor heading the same direction, the highway patrol said in a news release.
The driver of the car was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The person in the front passenger seat of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the rear seats were taken to Paulding Hospital, then transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center for additional treatment, the release said.
The driver of the tractor, Francis Magg, 46, of Paulding, Ohio, was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
