Conspiracy Charge Filed Against W-B Shooting Spree Suspect
Prosecutors have added a conspiracy charge against one of the main suspects in a February shooting spree in Wilkes-Barre City.
Onje Crowder, 19, had previously been charged with shooting up a home at 56-58 Lockhart St. during a drive by on Feb. 18.
He was facing charges of aggravated assault, discharging firearms into an occupied structure and recklessly endangering another person.
Prosecutors on Friday filed a new complaint, adding the charge of conspiracy. They claim Crowder and the alleged getaway driver, Jyzah Morgan, 21, conspired to commit the shooting.
Police alleged Crowder fired at east six gunshots at the home. Six people, including an 8-month-old children were home at the time, police said.
Days after the shooting, police captured Morgan.
Crowder was arrested March 18 during a search of home at 79 Bradford St. in Wilkes-Barre.
Between Feb. 16 and Feb. 19, police responded to shootings on Bowman, Lockhart, Dana and Dagobert streets. Police linked the shooting spree to an ongoing feud between rival “gang-associated” groups in the area. Several other people have been arrested in connection to the shooting spree.
