Sigh. It’s impossible to deny that Minnesota’s all-too-brief summer is coming to an end.
The kids are back in school. Fall is in the air. Football teams are taking the field.
And the final nail was driven into Summer 2018’s coffin today, when Rick “Murph” Murphy was seen packing up his Murph’s Diamond Dogs hot dog cart for the season after a final lunchtime on Rochester’s Peace Plaza.
It has been just a few short months, since Murph started his 13th season selling dogs downtown in May.
He started cooking a little earlier than usual this year to be part of the Rochester Downtown Alliance‘s kickoff of its “Games on the Grass.”
As the season rolled on, Murph kept at his post, despite being put on the DL three weeks ago for a bicep injury.
And now it is time to pack up the brats, dogs, relish and peppers once again, until next year.
