Christina Luick joins Daily Times news staff
Christina Luick has joined the news staff of the Watertown Daily Times as a general assignment reporter.
Luick will be involved in all aspects of reporting and at the present time is concentrating on the city government beat.
She also assists with school reporting, photography and general assignment stories.
She succeeds Jake Batterman who left the news department several months ago to pursue a new opportunity outside of journalism.
Luick is a May graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising and media.
During her college years Luick did some freelance writing for the Waukesha Freeman and interned at several other Milwaukee area newspapers.
She also earned several writing awards while in school, including first places in the 2017 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Contest and the 2018 Wisconsin College Media Association Awards.
Other members of the news staff are Heidi Schwoch, AP copy editor, Jenni Mickelson, Steve Sharp, Ed Zagorski, Emily Walsh Perkins, photographer, Kevin Wilson, sports editor, and Tom Schultz, managing editor.
Luick is a native of Cedarburg.
