No injuries reported in train derailment south of Carrington
CARRINGTON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say 33 rail cars carrying mostly cargo left the tracks when a train derailed in east-central North Dakota.
Foster County Sheriff Justin Johnson tells KQDJ radio that no injuries were reported from the incident, which happened about 8 a.m. Saturday south of Carrington.
Johnson says he considers it a minor derailment, He says a hazmat team has been called in because one of the cars may contain some ammonia. Officials are clearing snow to get vehicles to the area.
