Update given on Norfolk Public Schools breakfast and lunch program
NORFOLK - Norfolk Public Schools students have been seeing some recent updates in the lunch room.
At the Board of Education meeting Monday night Food Service Director Melissa Davis talked about breakfast and lunch updates.
Davis said they’re considering some feedback from their recent Food Service Advisory Committee meeting.
“Possibly keeping the Panther Pit open later so kids can get a snack after extracurricular activities. Adding extra a la carte items to the junior high menu. In high school moving the condiments because it can get crowded. Making sure the chefs special is noticed and more visible to students.”
Davis said the Panther Pit has been very successful as new items have been added in it recently.
She said they have also been transitioning from paper trays to plastic trays in a few of the schools and hope to eventually be fully transitioned.
