DAYTON, Ohio (AP) _ Senior guard Negele Knight scored 28 points as Dayton recovered from a deficit at halftime to defeat Notre Dame 97-79 on Wednesday.

The Flyers improved to 17-9 after the non-conference game, and the Fighting Irish fell to 14-11.

A tip-in by Keith Robinson at the 2:42 mark in the first half gave Notre Dame a 40-35 lead, and the Fighting Irish led 42-40 going into the second half.

Knight scored a three-point goal at the 18:50 mark to take Dayton ahead 45-42, and the Flyers led for the rest of the game. Anthony Corbitt scored on a short jump-shot with 4:47 remaining to give Dayton a 78-56 lead, their widest of the game.

Robinson led scoring for Notre Dame with 26 points, 18 of them in the first half. Corbitt added 15 for Dayton.
