Mohave Valley man in sheriff’s custody after girlfriend’s death
A Mohave Valley man has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting his girlfriend Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department, 28-year-old James P. Manker called police to report that he shot his girlfriend, 56-year-old Mohave Valley resident Tina M. Stimmell, at their home.
Deputies arrived at the address and ordered any occupants to exit the residence. Manker emerged, the report said, and he was taken into custody.
Deputies searched the residence and located Stimmel, the victim of a fatal gunshot. Manker was charged with first-degree murder and transported to Mohave County Jail without incident. As of Wednesday afternoon, Manker remained in custody without bond.
