October 2, 2018

CHICAGO (AP) — Former President Barack Obama has endorsed Democrat Betsy Dirksen Londrigan in her race against Republican Rep. Rodney Davis for a central Illinois congressional seat.

Obama announced his second round of endorsements on Monday, backing 260 additional candidates for races across the U.S. He says the list represents candidates who “aren’t just running against something, but for something.”

Obama backed more than 80 candidates in his first round of endorsements in August .

They included Illinois governor candidate J.B. Pritzker, attorney general hopeful Kwame Raoul and three Democratic candidates for Congress: Sean Casten, who’s running against Rep. Peter Roskam; Brendan Kelly, who’s challenging Rep. Mike Bost and Lauren Underwood, who’s trying to unseat Rep. Randy Hultgren.
