CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Cheyenne Frontier Days is looking to incorporate emerging technologies without compromising its commitment to Western culture.

Those technologies include such things as virtual and augmented reality to enhance visitor experience and use of digitally based entertainment to attract younger visitors.

CEO Tom Hirsig tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that the “Daddy of ’em All” is looking to remain relevant as it moves forward in the next 20 to 30 years.

Hirsig says event leaders will anticipate technological advancements in entertainment and competitive sports without isolating traditional fans.

It will mean updating the infrastructure of Frontier Park; building new, state-of-the-art facilities; and further expanding Western-inspired attractions throughout the park. Plans also include developing off-site parking and campgrounds to encourage extended stays.
