Pedestrian struck by vehicle at fair remains in intensive care
BLACKFOOT -- A family member of a 36-year-old pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle outside of the Eastern Idaho State Fair on Monday night said Thursday afternoon he remains in intensive care at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
The victim, who lives in Pocatello, sustained life-threatening injuries, contrary to a prior police statement, said the family member, Brandie Jacobus.
“Because he was in such good shape previously, he is making a remarkable recovery, thanks to the swiftness of the paramedics and the expertise of at EIRMC, with the blessing from the Lord,” Jacobus said.
The accident occurred near the fair’s east gate. The 59-year-old driver lives in Blackfoot, police said. Jacobus said she did not have permission from the victim’s wife to offer any additional details at press time.
