Man’s body found in Great Miami River in Ohio
HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — A sheriff says the body of a man has been found in the Great Miami River in Ohio.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones reports the body of 35-year-old Nathan Durbin, of Fairfield, was discovered around 7 a.m. Monday by a man walking to work on the Black Street Bridge in Hamilton.
The Hamilton Fire Department attempted a rescue but Durbin was dead when he was pulled from the water in the southwestern Ohio county. The sheriff’s release says nothing about the death appears suspicious, but the investigation is continuing.
No information on a cause of death has been released, pending a report from the county coroner’s office.
Jones cautioned that the river “can look fun, but looks can be deceiving.” He urged area residents to be cautious on the water.
