PONFERRADA, Spain (AP) — The International Cycling Union says the Tour of Beijing race it created will be staged for the last time next month.

The UCI says its Professional Cycling Council agreed Tuesday not to renew the five-day race on the 2015 World Tour calendar.

The fourth and final edition will be raced Oct. 10-14.

The race was launched in 2011 under previous UCI leadership and promoted by a subsidiary of the governing body.

UCI President Brian Cookson praises the Beijing race for "helping to build the profile of road racing in Asia."
