West Indies win toss, bat first in 3rd test
CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) — West Indies captain Denesh Ramdin won the toss and elected to bat on the first day of the third and final test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday.
The tourists replaced left-arm seamer Kenroy Peters with batsman Jermaine Blackwood as it opted to go into the final match with four specialist bowlers, rather that the five it deployed in the drawn second test at Port Elizabeth last week.
South Africa gave a debut to offspinner Simon Harmer in place of legspinner Imran Tahir as the Proteas looked to explore its spinning options ahead of test series in Bangladesh and India later this year.
South Africa leads the series 1-0 after winning the first test by an innings and 220 runs.
