Ansonia Mayor to nominate new alderman today
ANSONIA-Mayor David Cassetti will disclose his choice for the new seventh ward alderman this morning.
It is expected to be Frank DeLibero, one of the twin sons of Frank DeLibero, the seventh ward alderman who died last month after a seven year battle with pancreatic cancer.
DeLibero served as an alderman in the city’s most populated ward since June, 2015. At that time he was nominated to replace Daniel Evans who moved out of the city.
DeLibero’s wife, Tracy serves on the city’s Board of Education and the Ansonia-Derby Regionalization study committee. Frank and his twin brother, Arthur are both 20-year old college students. The pair graduated from Ansonia High School and were stallworths on the offense line for the school’s football team.
The nominee must be approved by the full Board of Aldermen when they meet April 9. The nominee would fill out the remainder of the term which ends in December.
