The third annual Skagit Water Weeks is set to begin Saturday, with a monthlong lineup of water related events scheduled throughout September.

Events will include water-themed karaoke in Anacortes and art in Mount Vernon, as well as the Skagit River Salmon Festival on Sept. 8 and Fidalgo Bay Day on Sept. 15.

Skagit Water Weeks is a month dedicated to discussing and celebrating the water of the region, including the Skagit River and the bays along the marine shoreline.

The Skagit Conservation Education Alliance organizes Skagit Water Weeks in partnership with Skagit County.

Skagit Water Weeks will also include talks at the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, opportunities to nurture streamside trees with the Skagit Land Trust and a chance to participate in citizen science projects.
