Teen struck and killed by train

A Milford teenager was struck and killed by a train in Milford Monday night. 

Around 6:30 p.m., Milford police were called to a train-pedestrian crash near the Syracuse Street rail crossing, a statement from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department said. 

Officers were told by Norfolk & Southern officials that they believe the teen, Samuel Allen Pamer, 16, walked in front of the path of the oncoming train and was hit south of the rail crossing. 

Pamer was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement from the sheriff’s department said. 

The crash is under investigation.
