HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by reports from the Huntington Police Department:

PROWLER: A parolee accused by concerned citizens of taking photos of children in public has been returned to Western Regional Jail, Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial confirmed. The man has since had his probation revoked, but had not been charged with a crime as of Thursday.

The man came to police officers’ attention after citizens tagged individual HPD officers with photos of the man on Facebook, claiming he was seen taking photos of children at the Huntington Mall and near Meadows Elementary School in Huntington. Huntington police encountered the man on Enslow Boulevard near the school Wednesday, Dial said, and his parole was revoked after speaking with his parole officers.

HPD’s Crimes Against Children Unit is investigating, which includes checking the man’s phone and records. His identity was not confirmed Thursday.
