U.S. Sales of Cars and Light Trucks

December 1998 and full-year car and light truck sales in the United States by the major automakers. Industry totals include 22 automakers, not just those listed.

The table compares sales in December 1998 with sales in December 1997, and year-to-date totals for the two years. Light trucks include pickups, vans, minivans and sport utility vehicles.

Results for General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG do not include U.S. sales from their European subsidiaries: Saab, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz, respectively. Those are listed separately.
