Meetings announced to greet new superintendent of Darlington County schools

DARLINGTON, S.C. – New Darlington County School District superintendent Tim Newman will host four meet-and-greet events in the coming weeks.

These events will be held in the four major areas of the county, will last approximately one hour each and will give anyone a chance to get to know Newman, who came to Darlington from the Orangeburg Consolidated School District 4.

The first event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Darlington County School District’s administrative office. The office is located at 120 E. Smith Ave. in Darlington.

From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 30, Newman will be available at the Society Hill Library.

From 7 to 8 p.m. that same day, Newman will meet with the public at the Hartsville Library.

The meetings will wrap up with an event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the Lamar Library.
