Bennie ” Ben” Clark -- Eden Prairie

Bennie “Ben” Clark, age 76, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2018.

Ben was born to Irene and William Clark in Platteville, Wis., on Nov. 5, 1942. He graduated from Lourdes High School, Rochester, in 1961. Ben then attended Winona State College, where he earned a bachelor’s in Elementary Education. He continued his studies and received a master’s in Education and one in Educational Administration.

Ben was drafted in 1967 and served his country for three years. Following his tour of duty, he began his career as an Elementary School teacher in Rollingstone. In 1980, Ben took as position as an Elementary School Principal in Adrian, Minn. He also served as Principal in Le Sueur from 1982 to 1986 and Forest Lake, Minn., from 1987 to 2007. He retired from education after 37 years of inspiring students, parents, and teachers in making their elementary school experience extraordinary.

Ben lived his life with drive and passion, whether it was his commitment to his students, his community, his love of sports, reading and most importantly, his family.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen Bridget; children, Ben and Rachel; grandchildren, Canton, Dacotah, Birch, Cree, River, Brooklyn and Aspen; and his sisters, Michael, Nancy and Kathleen. He is preceded in death by his father, William; mother, Irene; brother, Patrick; and son, Matthew.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
