Councilman Sues Schools, Alleging Bus Driver Forced Son to Eat Spitballs
NORCO, Calif. (AP) _ A city councilman is suing the school district for $1 million, alleging a bus driver forced his 7-year-old son to eat spitballs off the bus floor.
Young Jason Wildfong was riding home Oct. 24 when, according to the suit filed Friday in Riverside Superior Court, driver Suzan Garrett stopped the bus near his home and grabbed the youngster by the collar.
Councilman Ronald Wildfong alleges that Ms. Garrett made Jason pick up and swallow six or seven spitballs and ″roughly shoved and forced″ him to the front of the bus and out the door.
He contends Jason choked and gasped for air and the incident caused him ″great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering.″
Ms. Garrett is on a leave of absence and unreachable for comment, a co- worker said Wednesday. District personnel director Victor Collins declined comment.
