Man charged in slayings of 2 found shot in car
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man has been charged in the slayings of two men found shot in a car in a city near Philadelphia.
Twenty-year-old Miguel Mino-Rojas of Norristown is charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the slayings in Norristown.
Montgomery County prosecutors said 53-year-old Isaias Martinez and 44-year-old Guillermo Rivera-Rubio were found shot in a car shortly after midnight Sunday.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Rivera-Rubio was pronounced dead at Einstein Medical Center. The county coroner said both had been shot in the head.
Police allege that the defendant told them he was trying to buy cocaine when he saw one of the car’s occupants reach for “something” so he opened fire.
Court documents indicate Mino-Rojas requested representation by the county public defender’s office, which declined comment Wednesday.
