LIRR evening delays expected after minor derailment
NEW YORK (AP) — Evening rush hour commuters on the Long Island Rail Road can expect delays and cancellations after a train’s axle derailed in Queens.
Nobody was injured in the accident, which happened just west of Woodside at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. About 450 passengers aboard the train were transferred to a second train.
Delays and cancellations are being reported on the Babylon, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Port Washington branches.
