Wild Birds Unlimited holds grand opening in Florence

FLORENCE, S.C. — Nature enthusiasts flocked to the grand opening of Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop over the weekend to find bird seed, feeders and specialty garden items.

Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop, at 2151 W. Evans St., carries a variety of seeds and seed blends that have been specially formulated to attract birds in this region.

The store is owned by Art and Lisa Martin, who also own Carolina Wren.

“We’re the new home of the best bird food in town,” Art said. “Stop by and see the new store; we’ve brought nature indoors and created a very calming, relaxing environment.”

Seed blends are mixtures of seeds and nuts that numerous birds will eat. Seed will be delivered every week to the store for fresh product. In addition, the retailer carries bird feeders, bird houses and specialty garden and gift items.

Lisa said the industry of bird feeding has grown immensely over the years.

“We are very excited to share the hobby of backyard bird feeding with the residents of Florence and the surrounding area,” Lisa said. “This hobby is second only in popularity to gardening and is enjoyed by more than 53 million Americans.”

According to its website, the store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
